Ground Training

Ground training is one of the first and most important things to teach a young horse. How they learn to lead and be handled on the ground sets the foundation for furthering their training under saddle. This program will cover the basic ground work and handling with your youngster setting you both up for success in the future.
Field and stall board available. Owners are strongly encouraged to participate with their horse in lessons at no additional cost to learn alongside your horse and make the transition home smoother for both horse and human.
Problem Solving

Discovering the root of the problem you are facing with your horse and rebuilding horses with a poor foundation or trauma is one of the things we are most passionate about here at Sunny Side. Our struggles with our horse usually stem from their fear and anxiety showing up as lack of confidence, explosive tendencies such as rearing, bucking or bolting, or general pushing and unruliness. We begin by evaluating to discover where these blocks are coming from then lay out a plan of action for both you and your horse to overcome. For problem solving involving unrideable horses, a three month minimum is required

Colt Starting

This is the foundation for your horse’s life long riding career. The starting process sets the tone for how your horse will process and respond to you and other riders in the future. A through and careful start will set you and your horse up for success on your future adventures together. This is not a stage to be rushed or taken lightly so we require a minimum of three months for starting.
